What are the different types of Facial Rejuvenation Treatments?

The following are the more common types of facial rejuvenation treatments. All of these methods carry their own set of  risks, benefits, costs, and techniques.

The following are some of the more common minimally invasive facial rejuvenation procedures:

Microdermabrasion: This is a superficial skin polishing procedure that involves sanding off the first layer of skin with a diamond tip wand.

Chemical Peel: When certain chemicals are applied to the skin, they cause age spots to disappear while tissue appears less transparent.

Fillers: Dermal fillers are used to fill the lines of the face and increase the fullness of lips. They are also very useful in filling certain facial depressions and scars.

Photo Rejuvenation: Photo rejuvenation is designed to reduce redness, flushing and wrinkle size. Through short bursts of laser light, unsightly veins and dark “age” spots are gently removed the skin. This leaves the skin with a more even tone that looks and feels smoother.

Spider Vein Treatment (Sclerotherapy): The injection of a chemical, known as a sclerosing solution, into unsightly veins that causes them to turn white and gradually disappear.

Dysport/Botox Injections: Dysport and Botox are a botulinum toxin that is injected to prevent the contraction of muscles that form wrinkles, thus reducing them.

These facial rejuvenation procedures are just some of the many ways cosmetic treatments can help enhance one’s appearance. To learn more about other facial rejuvenation procedures, please call our office at 714-970-9100

Facial Rejuvenation

Our face is the most distinguishing features on our entire body. However, as we grow older, fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and other signs of aging appear. Age, sun exposure, smoking, and other factors can all contribute to this appearance. While there are those who choose to accept aging as a way of life, many people have been seeking cosmetic surgeons or dermatologists to find how they can recapture their youth. There are several techniques that can help restore a youthful appearance to faces.

These are known as facial rejuvenation treatments. While some of these facial rejuvenation procedures involve surgery, like facelifts and dermabrasion, more and more minimally invasive procedures have emerged. These procedures require no incisions and may not require anesthesia, plus these patients experience minimal, or no downtime at all. Minimally invasive procedures are gaining in popularity. With the increasing popularity of facial rejuvenation, it is important that the prospective patient research and understand different issues like what the procedure can and cannot treat, inherent risks, costs, and other factors.

As we age, facial lines begin to develop and lips begin to thin. Restylane and dermal fillers are used to fill the lines of the face and increase the fullness of lips. They are also very useful in filling certain facial depressions and scars. Dermal fillers give a rounded, more youthful appearance without having to endure invasive procedures. Results typically last from six to twelve months depending on the area treated.

Perlane – a cosmetic dermal filler that has been used to soften wrinkles and facial lines of individuals. It is also a popular filler for facial depressions and facial scarring.

Juvederm - Over time, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds form. Juvéderm™ injectable gel is a "next-generation" dermal filler. The smooth consistency gel helps to instantly restore your skin's volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, like your "smile lines" and is excellent for lip augmentation.

Restylane - It is used to replenish the dermal volume loss that allows wrinkles to form. It is also used to enhance lips and fill in acne scars. Because it is minimally modified, Restylane has a low incidence of hypersensitivity reactions and requires no skin testing prior to treatment.
