We use a topical anesthetic cream for increased comfort during treatment. Side effects of dermal fillers are bruising, swelling, and tenderness, that can last up to 7 days. Before treatment it is best to avoid blood thinning medications such as ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E for 5-7 days, as well as avoiding alcohol to decrease the chance of bruising. At Luxe, we also use the Accuvein bruise prevention device to further minimize the risk of bruising.
Taking Arnica Montana tablets for 3-5 days before treatment will help with optimal outcomes for the patient and can be purchased before treatment at Luxe Aesthetic Center. Dermal filler duration depends on the area being treated as well as the product chosen by the injector to create the desired effect. Typical duration for hyaluronic acid fillers is between 6 months and 2 years. It is common to treat with dermal fillers once a year after optimal correction is initially achieved.
