Firm and Fade

Firm and fade is a powerful combination topical cream that treats aging and sun damaged skin. It works to lighten and eliminate pigmentation. It is a great medication to help with melasma or unwanted age spots. It contains hydroquinone, retinol, kojic acid, and hydrocortisone. 

Hydroquinone interrupts the synthesis of melanin by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme catalyzing an important step in melanin production. Melanin is the pigment that causes the skin to darken. This ingredient is helpful to target melasma, an acquired hyperpigmentation of the face which frequently begins during pregnancy and often affects women with darker complexions. 

Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A. In this combination retinol allows hydroquinone to penetrate the skin, regulates the production of melanin and increases collagen and cell turnover. 

Kojic acid is a mild pigment inhibitor naturally found in plant and animal tissues.  It works in conjunction with hydroquinone to provide optimum skin brightening results.

Hydrocortisone is a mild topical corticosteroid which has anti-inflammatory effects. Topical steroids have anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive properties. This helps reduce redness and inflammation. 

This product should be applied approximately 30 minutes before bedtime. A pea sized amount can be applied over the entire face (except upper eyelids). Avoidance of sun exposure and use of sunscreen with SPF 30, wearing protective clothing and hats is crucial as Firm and Fade can increase the sensitivity of the skin to sun.
